URBANISM // .stadt.raum.spiel
With a background in China Studies (B.A. Leipzig University) and Urban Studies+Design (M.Sc. Bauhaus University Weimar and M.Eng. Tongji University Shanghai), I am working at the interplay of educational, scientific and design-related aspects of our contemporary urbanizing world. Inspired by Henri Lefebvre’s writings on space and the urban, I am interested in the global phenomenon of urbanization and its local characteristics and potentialities.
urban research + design + games
There are many ways to interpret and communicate contemporary processes of urbanization as well as the possible futures that are ‘inscribed’ in the present, I therefore believe in the necessity for trans-disciplinarity and self-reflexivity, both in personal and professional contexts. In my individual work as well as in collaborations, creative and often game-based approaches mark focal points in approaching challenges and contexts.
A few samples of my recent projects can be found below. For my recent work with Duygu Kaban, Jeremy Pine and Gaia Agositini follow the link to www.spacedigger.org.

I am based in Berlin-Neukölln, Germany.
ACTOPOLIS - The Art of Action is a transnational testfield for art as urban praxis. Initiated by Goethe-Institut and Urbane Künste Ruhr it brings together artists, architects and activists to co-produce projects in seven cities from Oberhausen (Germany) in the West to Ankara/Mardin (Turkey) in the East.
